Pay attention and become famous
Sean: How does Michael Jackson lean forward all the way and then get back up?
Dad: Maybe he’s attached to a cable.
Sam: Maybe he took a class in physics.
Sean: Maybe he did take a class. Maybe all the other people in the class didn’t pay attention and only he paid attention and that’s why he’s so good at it.

Michael Jackson patented the process. In the stage, there are special dowels that can pop up from the stage, then drop back down flush with the stage.
His shoes are special and have holes just for these dowels, with lots of reinforcing. During his routine, when he wants to do the lean, he stands in the exact spot on stage needed, the dowels come up and lock his shoes in place, he leans, straightens out again, then the dowels lower and he can continue his dance routine.
Do a Google search for MICHAEL JACKSON SHOES PATENT.
Oh, and, that exchange was pretty cute.
